THIS IS MY STORY
Thank you for visiting my web site ALL INSURANCE SITE.COM. Like most people I thought insurance was needless. I was healthy and was going to live forever. Well I am still alive but life sure has changed. My story is the same as most. Wife, kids, job, mortgage, bills and all the usual. On September 5 2005, my life changed forever. My wife Shelley and I were visiting our daughter and her husband. The girls had a full day of bingo planned and I was going to beat the son-in-law like a rented mule on the local golf course. On labor day Sunday, I did the usual, shaved showered and you know what. As I rose from the toilet I noticed a full bowl of blood. We packed up forgetting about our plans and made the two hour trip home. After seven hours in emergency and my body being probed all over the doctor told me he had felt a tumor. Fourteen hours later I had a colonoscopy and was sent home. One week later I was sitting in the surgeons office being told I had cancer. Two weeks later I began chemo and radiation which lasted 12 weeks. Two months later I had the tumor and my rectum removed. After living with a colostomy bag for three months my bowels were reconnected. The cancer was gone but my problems continued. Just as I was recovering, I suffered a stroke. For valuable information about strokes and stroke recovery go to What is a stroke. Although mild compared to most it affected parts of my body and some of my speech. To this day I am unable to work, had no coverage and am living on $800.00 per month. I am happy to be alive and bless my wife Shelley, my surgeon, the staff of both the Cross Cancer Clinic and the Misericordia Hospital for everything they did for me. Do not take life for granted, protect yourself and the one's you love. If I had purchased some type of disability insurance my life would be the same, but some of the worries would be gone. Thank you for reading my story, every word is true and I hope none of you have to go through what I have gone through in the last two plus years.
Please protect yourself and your family, Bob.
